Terms of hire
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Who we are
These terms are between you (“the hirer”) and clic., a photo booth hire business run as a sole trader, based in Pwllheli, Gwynedd (“we”, “us”). Contact: clicffoto@gmail.com or Instagram @clic.ffoto.
2. What you’re hiring
A self-service photo booth for your event, in the package you choose (clic. Party, clic. Wedding, clic. Luxe, or a clic. Bespoke package, which is quoted individually and agreed with you in writing). Each package includes the features listed on our website at the time of booking, and we’ll confirm them in writing.
- Self-service: we set the booth up and your guests use it themselves. We don’t provide an attendant for the whole event.
- Hire time: the hire period (3 hours for clic. Party, 4 for clic. Wedding, 5 for clic. Luxe) is the time the booth is operating for your guests. Delivery, set-up and collection are in addition and are arranged with you and your venue. Extra time may be possible if agreed in advance, subject to availability and an extra charge.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices on our website are “from” prices. Your final price depends on your date and how far your venue is from Pwllheli, and busy dates (such as summer Saturdays and bank holidays) may cost more. We’ll confirm the full price in writing before you book.
- Booking and deposit: your date is only reserved when you have accepted our written quote and paid a deposit of 25% of the total price. The deposit is non-refundable except as set out in section 5 and section 9.
- Balance: the remaining amount is due 14 days before your event. If it isn’t paid by then, we may cancel the booking and keep the deposit.
4. Venue, set-up and power
- You must make sure that your venue allows the booth, and that we can get access for delivery, set-up and collection at the agreed times.
- The booth needs a suitable space, a level surface and a standard mains power socket nearby. We’ll tell you the exact space and power needs when you book, and you must tell us about any restrictions (stairs, lifts, parking, access times).
- The booth is for indoor use unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. It must be kept away from rain, spills and extreme heat.
5. Changes and cancellation
If you cancel (please tell us in writing, including by Instagram message or email), you will pay:
| When you cancel | What you pay |
|---|---|
| More than 60 days before the event | The deposit only (non-refundable) |
| 15 to 60 days before | 50% of the total price |
| 14 days or fewer before, or on the day | 100% of the total price |
These amounts are a fair estimate of the income we lose because the date can’t usually be re-booked.
Postponing: you can move your booking to another date once, free of charge, if you give us at least 30 days’ notice and we’re available on the new date. Any difference in price for the new date will apply.
Cooling-off period: because this is a booking for a service on a specific date, the usual 14-day cancellation right for online and distance purchases doesn’t apply. We’re telling you this clearly before you book.
6. Looking after the equipment
- The booth and all equipment and props remain our property. You are responsible for them from delivery until collection.
- Please make sure guests use the booth sensibly. It shouldn’t be climbed on, moved, opened or used with drinks or food nearby. Children should be supervised by an adult.
- You’ll be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of anything lost or damaged during the hire beyond normal wear and tear, including by your guests. We’ll tell you the cost and provide evidence if we ask you to pay.
7. Photos, prints and guestbooks
- Prints and digital files from your event belong to you and your guests. You (and your guests) may use them however you like for personal purposes.
- We’ll only post event photos on our website or social media if you agree. Please tell us if you’d rather we didn’t.
- Personalised print designs and guestbook wording are agreed with you before the event. Please check spellings carefully, as we can’t reprint if you approved a mistake.
- For the audio phone guestbook (clic. Luxe), we’ll put up a sign telling guests that their messages are recorded. How we handle photos and recordings is explained in our privacy policy.
8. If something goes wrong with the equipment
We take care to bring equipment that works and to check it before every event. If the booth stops working during your hire because of a fault on our side, we’ll try to fix it or replace it quickly. If we can’t get it working, we’ll refund the part of the hire price that’s fairly in proportion to the time the booth wasn’t working.
9. If we have to cancel
If we have to cancel, for example because of illness, equipment failure we can’t resolve, or events outside our control such as severe weather, travel disruption or venue closure, we’ll tell you as soon as we can and offer a new date or a full refund of everything you’ve paid. We won’t be liable for any other loss, such as the cost of finding another supplier.
10. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Otherwise, our total responsibility to you for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the price you’ve paid us for that booking. We aren’t responsible for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or by guests or venues.
[Insurance details to be confirmed before launch]
11. Complaints
If something isn’t right, please tell us as soon as you can and we’ll do our best to put it right. You can contact us using the details at the top of this page.
12. General
These terms, plus our written quote, are the whole agreement between us. If we need to change them, we’ll tell you before you book. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will decide any dispute, although if you live in Wales you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
